Jaipur International Airport (JAI) is on Airport Road in Sanganer, Jaipur, Rajasthan. It is run by Jaipur International Airport Limited (JIAL), which is managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited, part of the Adani Group.
The airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 2 (T2), and facilities differ between them. Airlines are split across the two, so check the terminal on your boarding pass before you set off.
The airport's airline information page lists IndiGo and Air India at Terminal 2, and Air India Express at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. For Air India Express and for Akasa Air, check the terminal on your boarding pass or with the airline.
Terminal allocations can change, so confirm with your airline close to the day.
If you need to change terminals, ask at the information desk how to get across, and allow extra time when you plan a connection.
The airport's questions page puts check-in counters on Level 4 in the departure area, and says to refer to the information screens near the terminal entry gates to find your airline's counter.
DigiYatra at Jaipur is for departing passengers on domestic flights, and it is in place at Terminal 2. It covers a DigiYatra gate at the departure entrance, face-scanning pods before and at the security checkpoint, and self-boarding at the departure gates. For a flight from Terminal 1, ask your airline or the information desk whether you can use it.
To enrol, download the DigiYatra app, register with your phone number and a one-time password, then add your Aadhaar directly or through DigiLocker, take a selfie, add your boarding pass, and consent to share the details with JIAL. If you have not enrolled, there is a registration kiosk at Gate 2 of Terminal 2 on the day. The airport's DigiYatra page has the steps.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) publishes the list of photo identity documents accepted at terminal entry, carried in original with a valid ticket. A passport, Aadhaar or m-Aadhaar, a voter photo identity card and a driving licence are among them, and a passenger on an international flight carries a passport.
The CISF list says an infant or minor travelling with a parent or guardian who holds valid identity proof does not need a separate document, while an unaccompanied minor does. Airlines may ask for more, and foreign nationals should ask their airline which document it accepts for a domestic flight.
In cabin baggage, the CISF restricted-articles list allows liquids, aerosols and gels in small quantities for the journey, in containers of up to 100 ml each, packed in one clear, resealable one-litre plastic bag. Medicine or an inhaler accompanied by prescription, and baby food, are exceptions. For power banks and spare batteries, follow your airline's own rule.
Passengers on domestic flights have no immigration check and go straight to baggage collection. International passengers clear immigration and customs first.
The Arrival Hall is the meeting point. Pre-arranged transport waits in the parking areas, and taxis and app cabs pick up outside the terminal.
Private taxi counters are in the arrival area of both terminals, so you can book a taxi at either. The airport lists prepaid taxis at its "Domestic terminal"; the Adani Lounge's domestic departure area, and DigiYatra for domestic flights, are at Terminal 2. Metered taxis, app-based cabs and rental cars have pick-up points at both terminals, and car hire is in the arrival halls of both terminals.
Metered auto rickshaws wait outside both terminals for trips within the city.
City buses run by Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) connect key areas of Jaipur with the airport. From Terminal 1, buses run to Sikar and Sardar Shahar. Check routes on the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) website before you rely on a bus.
Both terminals have short-term and long-term parking, with separate rates for cars, commercial taxis, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, buses and trucks. You can pre-book online, choosing valet or general parking: pick a package, pay online, and scan the code you receive at the parking counter.
Facilities at the airport include:
The Adani Lounge is in the Terminal 2 domestic departure area, on the first floor after security. It is open 24 hours for business class, corporate, card-holder and walk-in customers, and the airport lists "2 hours of Lounge Access prior to scheduled departure".
A departure medical centre is in the check-in area, opposite the terminal entrance, and an arrival medical centre is in the Arrival Hall, opposite the CISF control room. They offer first aid, emergency response and treatment for minor medical issues.
If you need help with mobility, information or language, go to the information desk in the arrivals area. Staff there assist both domestic and international passengers. For wheelchair help, the airport advises telling your airline in advance.
In a release dated 25 November 2025, the airport said it supports landings in low visibility, with an approach lighting system and runway lighting, and that Jaipur has become a hub for diverted flights. It said it had renewed the runway markings, maintained the runway and approach lights and added ground staff for the low-visibility period of that winter.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) does not require airlines to pay compensation for delays and cancellations clearly attributable to weather, and fog counts as weather. The rules are under Delays, cancellations and your rights, below.
On 3 June 2025, JIAL inaugurated a set of projects to be delivered in phases, and said these would be added at Terminal 2: an expansion of the terminal, two fixed link bridges, an extended canopy, and more check-in counters, self baggage drop counters, X-ray baggage machines, boarding gates and entry gates.
The same announcement covered an upgrade of the apron at Terminal 1 and a new forecourt area with shops and food outlets.
The site's schedule data records IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express and Akasa Air on direct domestic flights from Jaipur.
For Delhi, flights are recorded to both Indira Gandhi International Airport and Noida International Airport. For Mumbai, they are recorded to both Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport, and each airport has its own route page, so check which one your booking names.

The DGCA sets out what airlines offer when a flight is delayed or cancelled, or a passenger is denied boarding, in its Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) Section 3, Series M, Part IV, Revision 4, dated 25 January 2023 and effective from 15 February 2023. If you checked in on time, the airline provides meals and refreshments once a delay is expected to reach a set length: two hours or more on a flight with a block time of up to 2.5 hours, three hours or more on a flight with a block time of over 2.5 and up to 5 hours, and four hours or more on a longer one.
When a flight is cancelled, the airline arranges an alternate flight or a refund, and a passenger who was not told in time is offered either an alternate flight or compensation under the DGCA's rules, in addition to a full refund. Compensation is not due to a passenger who gave the airline no email address or phone number at booking. If an airline offers you a flight to or from a different airport or terminal, it covers the transfer to or from the original one, unless you were told at least six hours in advance.
The CAR does not require compensation for cancellations and delays clearly attributable to air traffic control, weather or security risks, or caused by other circumstances beyond the airline's control, and it does not oblige the airline to provide meals, refreshments or hotel accommodation when the cause is an extraordinary circumstance. You can complain to the airline directly, file a grievance on the Air Sewa app or portal, or go to a statutory body or court. Check your airline's current policy and dgca.gov.in for any later revision before you rely on these rules.
The airport lists IndiGo at Terminal 2, along with Air India. Terminal allocations can change, so check your boarding pass.
Yes, for a domestic departure from Terminal 2, once you have enrolled in the DigiYatra app with your Aadhaar. A registration kiosk is at Gate 2 of Terminal 2 if you have not enrolled. For a flight from Terminal 1, ask your airline or the information desk whether you can use it.
Yes. The Adani Lounge is in the Terminal 2 domestic departure area, on the first floor after security, and is open 24 hours. The airport lists "2 hours of Lounge Access prior to scheduled departure".
Private taxi counters are in the arrival area of both terminals, and metered taxis, app cabs and rental cars have pick-up points at both. Metered auto rickshaws wait outside both terminals, and JCTSL city buses connect key areas of Jaipur with the airport.
Ask at the information desk how to get across, and allow extra time for the transfer if your connection involves both terminals.
