The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) publishes the list of photo identity documents accepted at entry to the terminal building, carried in original with a valid ticket. A passport, Aadhaar or m-Aadhaar, a voter photo identity card and a driving licence are among them, and a passenger on an international flight carries a passport.
The CISF list says an infant or minor travelling with a parent or guardian who holds valid identity proof does not need a separate document, but an unaccompanied minor does. Airlines may ask for more, and foreign nationals should ask their airline which document it accepts for a domestic flight.
In cabin baggage, the CISF restricted-articles list allows liquids, aerosols and gels in small quantities for the journey, in containers of up to 100 ml each, packed in one clear, resealable one-litre plastic bag. Medicine or an inhaler accompanied by prescription, and baby food, are exceptions. For power banks and spare batteries, follow your airline's own rule.
Assistance and medical help
Book a wheelchair with your airline in advance, or ask for assistance at the airline counters. Check-in counters B01 and A05 are reserved for passengers with reduced mobility, and the operator lists signage, accessible information desks, lifts with Braille-coded keys, accessible washrooms and reserved seating.
After the security check, a buggy takes passengers with reduced mobility to the boarding gate on request. The wider buggy service is also for families with young children and passengers with a lot of luggage: book it in advance by email or phone, or ask the buggy staff in the terminal, and expect it to depend on need and availability.
The medical centre is near the transfer gate inside the terminal building. First-aid kits are placed around the terminal, and there are several pharmacies in the terminal.

Delays, cancellations and your rights
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) sets out what airlines offer when a flight is delayed or cancelled, or a passenger is denied boarding, in its Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) Section 3, Series M, Part IV, Revision 4, dated 25 January 2023 and effective from 15 February 2023. If you checked in on time, the airline provides meals and refreshments once a delay is expected to reach a set length: two hours or more on a flight with a block time of up to 2.5 hours, three hours or more on a flight with a block time of over 2.5 and up to 5 hours, and four hours or more on a longer one.
If a domestic flight is expected to be delayed by more than six hours from its published departure time, or from a revised time communicated more than 24 hours before the original departure, the airline offers either an alternate flight within six hours or a full refund. The CAR also provides for hotel accommodation, with transfers when necessary, for a total delay of more than 24 hours, or more than six hours on a flight scheduled to depart late in the evening or overnight.
When a flight is cancelled, the airline arranges an alternate flight or a refund, and a passenger who was not told in time is offered either an alternate flight, or compensation under the DGCA's rules together with a full refund. For a cancellation, compensation is not due to a passenger who gave the airline no email address or phone number at booking. If an airline offers you a flight to or from a different airport or terminal, it covers the transfer to or from the original one, unless you were told at least six hours in advance.
The CAR does not require compensation for cancellations and delays clearly attributable to air traffic control, weather or security risks, or caused by other circumstances beyond the airline's control. For a delay, the airline does not have to provide meals, refreshments or hotel accommodation where the delay is caused by extraordinary circumstances that could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken.
You can complain to the airline directly, file a grievance on the Air Sewa app or portal, or go to a statutory body or court. Check your airline's current policy and dgca.gov.in for any later revision before you rely on these rules.
