Rewa Airport (REW) serves Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, and is run by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). It is about 6.5 km south-west of Rewa Junction railway station, and Madhya Pradesh Tourism places it in Chorhata, around 11 km from the city centre.
The direct domestic flights recorded from Rewa go to Indore with IndiGo. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Prime Minister inaugurated the airport on 20 October 2024. Madhya Pradesh Tourism says Rewa is best known for its rare white tigers.
The airline recorded on these flights is IndiGo. Direct domestic flights recorded from Rewa go to:
| Destination | Airport | Airlines recorded |
|---|---|---|
| Indore | Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport (IDR) | IndiGo |
According to AAI, the airport is about 6.5 km south-west of Rewa Junction railway station and hired taxis are available. Madhya Pradesh Tourism measures from a different point: around 11 km from the city centre.
In November 2024, AAI invited bids to build a rigid pavement road from the airport entry to the ring road. For onward rail travel, Madhya Pradesh Tourism describes Rewa railway station as a terminal station on the Satna to Rewa branch line.
According to AAI, first aid is available in the terminal building, and the district hospital is in Rewa city, about 11 km from the airport. Banks and a post office are within about 3 km of the airport, and hotels, restaurants and a Madhya Pradesh Tourism office are in the city.
When the foundation stone of Rewa Airport was laid on 15 February 2023, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said the airfield had been owned by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, which handed it over to AAI for revival and the construction of facilities. The Prime Minister inaugurated the airport from Varanasi on 20 October 2024, one of the airports the Ministry says were developed under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik).
Madhya Pradesh Tourism names the village of Mukundpur, in Satna district, as the most visited place in Rewa and says it is best known for the White Tiger Zoo and Safari. Mukundpur was home to Mohan, the white tiger that, according to the Rewa district administration, was caught in the Bargadi forest area of Sidhi district in 1951 and whose descendants later spread to other parts of the world. For safaris, Madhya Pradesh Tourism directs bookings to the state's online forest booking portal.
The district administration describes Rewa Fort as having two rivers behind it and a museum. It names a cannon, a royal silver throne, the museum hall's chandelier, an arms gallery and a white tiger gallery among the things to see.
The district also names the Bahuti, Chachai, Purwa and Keoti waterfalls among Rewa's tourist places. Madhya Pradesh Tourism lists Buddhist stupas of the Mauryan age at Deur Kothar, and its list of Rewa's sights includes Venkat Palace, Govindgarh Palace and its lake, and Rani Talab.
IndiGo's check-in counters for domestic flights close 60 minutes before scheduled departure, and its boarding gates close 25 minutes before departure. IndiGo recommends reporting at least 2 hours before departure, and says it reserves the right to cancel a customer's reservation if its check-in timelines are not met.
IndiGo's baggage policy allows one cabin bag of up to 7 kg and 55 x 35 x 25 cm, plus one personal article of up to 3 kg, such as a purse or a small bag containing a laptop. Its allowance page gives a domestic checked allowance of 15 kg per person. A Lite fare, or a similar promotional fare, includes no checked baggage; it can be added for a charge, including at the airport check-in counter before the counters close.
IndiGo says baggage requirements differ from flight to flight and that the booking confirmation and ticket carry the most accurate details, so check yours before you pack. IndiGo also says that if it delays a flight by more than 2 hours or brings it forward by more than 1 hour, customers are entitled to a full refund or rebooking onto an alternative IndiGo flight at no additional cost, subject to availability.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) list of valid photo identity documents includes a passport, Aadhaar or m-Aadhaar, a voter photo identity card and a driving licence; one is carried in original, with a valid ticket, at entry to the terminal building. Airlines may ask for more, so check with IndiGo before you travel.
Under the CISF's restricted-articles list, liquids, aerosols and gels in cabin baggage go in containers of up to 100 ml each, in one clear, resealable one-litre plastic bag; medicine or an inhaler accompanied by a prescription, and baby food, are the exceptions. A Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) circular dated 11 November 2025 says power banks and spare batteries go in hand baggage only and not in overhead bins, and that using or charging power banks is not allowed during flight. IndiGo sets its own limits on their size and number, so check its baggage pages before you fly.
Under the DGCA's Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) Section 3, Series M, Part IV, Revision 4, dated 25 January 2023, airlines are not liable for compensation for cancellations and delays clearly attributable to air traffic control, meteorological conditions or security risks. The same CAR says the duty to provide meals, refreshments and hotel accommodation during a delay does not apply where the delay is caused by extraordinary circumstances that could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken.
Cancellation compensation is not due to a passenger who gave no email address or phone number at booking, so give your contact details when you book. You can complain to the airline directly or file a grievance on the Air Sewa app or portal.
